I go to a few air displays because hubby loves them, however, although I don't mind taking some photos of planes I have to admit I prefer taking candid shots of people around me.
Taken with my trusty Nikon D90 and a Nikon 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 G AF-S VR IF-ED NikkorLens, which was set to Shutter Priority. I used Spot Metering. ISO was on auto with a minimum of 200. What I HAD forgotten to do was to check the white balance setting. This was unfortunately set to cloudy, and whilst it was a cloudy day, this setting did not give me the results I wanted. I have to admit that I therefore adjusted the photos slightly using Corel Photo Paint, part of the CorelDRAW X5
.
Anyway, these were taken on 5th September 2010 at the Battle of Britain display at Duxford. As usual, click to enlarge

Hi Jilly,
Great photos.
Where did you purchase your camera from and how much if you dont mind me asking? I am after a Nikon D90 with an 18-105mm lens but unfortunitaley my budget cant stretch that far yet. My alternative is a Nikon D5000 with an 18-55mm lens. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Hi Dean – Thanks!
The cheapest place I’ve found to buy the Nikon D90 is Amazon at £757.70 (see my Nikon D90 price comparison page)
However, hubby is thinking of selling his D90. He does have a 18-105 vr lens to go with it and can offer that for £625 incl delivery. We do have other lenses available if you wanted an alternative. Let me know if you want more details!
Hi
If you check jessop’s website you would be able to get it on finance with no interest.
That’s great, thanks! Here’s a link to Jessops
